With the aim of reducing the environmental impact on the bunch quality and decreasing the input in the vineyard, three strategies were established, as follows:

  • early leaf removal of mature leaves: this technique improves the microclimate in the fruit zone by increasing air circulation and bunches sunlight exposure, thereby reducing fruit wetness period and improving pesticide penetration;
  • organo-mineral fertilization: the administration of organo-mineral fertilizer helps maintain the right soil physical quality while providing a nutritional effect for the plants. The administration will be carried out both in spring and autumn;
  • foliar nutrition with basalt powder: this natural product is able to improve the plats resistance to biotic stressors, such as water and sunlight stresses, limiting the transpiration and creating a reflecting layer, as well as protecting from insect attacks for its water repellent and biostimulating characteristics.
